Pamela Rojas

“My training in ceramic sculptures began in Spain, in the school of Della Robbia. My explorations through clay, as an ancient and abundant medium, has been a metaphorical journey that reflects my personal migrations, from Chile to Europe and then from Spain to America and finally Canada. In these migrations I have come closer to my roots while my work becomes a connection to my ancestors, speaking though a mixture of pre-Columbian and Latin American designs.  My sculptures explore colours, emotion, ancestral memories and basic iconographies that are represented in South-American ceramic and textile artifacts. My drawings on the sphere intend to capture the essence and the character of  the Latin-American spirit though a style that seek  innocence of mind and simplicity, which removes constrains and allows more liberty in the matter of composition.”  Pamela Rojas was born in Santiago, Chile.
