Using complementary colour and sweeping line helps to create the storms and winter seasons that interject their beauty in momentary fury in our lives. Being around and on the water fascinates me with wonder and respect for weather, especially in its most powerful moods. Capturing the dramatic scenes in nature especially where the elements meet, is both a metaphor for life and literal fact of life. I have found that working in a combination of oil, acrylic, bees wax adds a transparency that is both honest and intimate. Influenced by Homer Watson, I seek to capture the joy and contentment of life amongst the storms of love and loss.
